Loft Conversion FAQs

01. How much will it cost?

The cost will vary based on your existing house and what you want to achieve. Please go to our online quote system to get a guide cost for your conversion.

02. Do I need planning permission?

Most properties have permitted development rights which allow a loft conversion without the need for planning permission. However, there are exceptions to this and we will be able to advise you on your individual project please contact us for guidance.

03. Do you remove the roof?

No. If your loft height is tall enough we don’t need to remove the roof. However, unlike most loft conversion specialists, we can offer you a solution if your roof is too low. Moduloft is the answer!

04. Do I need to move out whilst the work is going on?

No. Because most of the work is carried out in the loft space which has not been part of your living space you can continue your life as normal. We also schedule the plumbing work to be done so that you have only one day that disrupts your water supply.

05. What guarantee do you give me?

We have been at the forefront of loft conversions for the last two decades and have completed over 2,000 loft conversions in varying types of properties. If we have a customer near to you then you can be introduced to them to discuss their project and experience. In addition to this we also provide a 10 year insurance backed guarantee.

06. My uncle is a builder; won't it be cheaper for him to do it?

Any loft conversion to create additional habitable space is a major structural project. The space wasn’t designed to take the loads associated with a living space. Very few builders, regardless of how long they have been working, will have the experience we have at loft conversions. However, we can offer you a structure only conversion which will allow you or your uncle to do the normal electrical, plumbing and finishing jobs which will save you money.

07. I have been told I can't convert my loft the roof is too low. Is this true?

Most specialist loft conversion companies cannot convert a loft if the height is below 2.4m. We have developed a patent pending system to efficiently and quickly convert houses with roofs that are too low for a traditional conversion. A ModuLoft roof replacement is the answer!
