The Rising Demand for Loft Conversions
With continuing volatility in the property market, the ever-rising costs of moving home, and no end in sight to the problems dogging the economy, many homeowners are turning to their loft – the largest and most un-economical empty area in their house – as a safe and cost-effective way of gaining extra living space and adding value to their property.
At Truss Loft, we’ve responded to this rising demand by developing a range of services which enable homeowners to utilise the roof space in properties where it was once thought such conversions were impossible.
We’re now firmly established as the national trussed rafter loft conversion specialist, carrying out hundreds of conversions across the country every year.
Overcoming the Trussed Rafter Roof Problem
Many modern homeowners think the idea of converting their loft into functional living space is unachievable, due to the trussed rafter design of their property’s roof. Indeed, most builders will refuse to even entertain the idea of carrying out a loft conversion on a trussed rafter roof, for fear of damaging the integrity of the structure.
However, at Truss Loft we’ve developed a unique and highly practical system for replacing trussed rafters, while still retaining the strength of the roof. By transferring the roof load on to horizontal structural steel beams, we can remove the trussed rafters altogether and free up the space in your loft, allowing you to add valuable extra living space to your home.
The Truss Loft technique brings loft conversions to the modern house market.
The Origins of Truss Loft
Our story started in Ripon, North Yorkshire, in 1995, when we were asked to convert a modern trussed rafter loft that a local architect and a number of builders had said was not possible. The method we used on this first conversion became the blueprint for the technique we use today, a technique we’ve developed and refined to become what we firmly believe is the best and most cost-effective trussed rafter loft conversion system available anywhere.
We’ve since expanded from our original operating area of Harrogate, Leeds and York, and today we cover the whole of the UK mainland, carrying out all manner of loft conversions from Scotland all the way down to the West Country, and everywhere in-between. We have regional offices in the north and south of the UK, with all manufacturing work carried out by our skilled team at our head office in Ripon.
We’re incredibly proud of our customer service record. Our reputation for quality and service is a product of years of hard work, and we strive to maintain our impeccable standards through continuing to provide first class customer service to all customers, new and old.
And we know better than most that every loft conversion is different, which is why our services can be tailored to meet your specific demands. We can offer a comprehensive start-to-finish service, or we can help on a purely structural level if you want to take a DIY approach, allowing you to complete your loft conversion project in your own time.
Whichever way you choose to engage us, we’ll put together a plan-of-action to meet your requirements.
Professional, Efficient, Considerate
Any loft conversion will have an impact on the rest of the house, but we do our utmost at all times to minimise the disruption to your home life. We use dust sheets on all floor surfaces affected by the work, and we’ll leave your home clean and vacuumed at the end of each day. Although timescales for each project vary, we will typically complete all work in under 10 weeks – often much sooner.
We employ only qualified tradespeople in each specialism and draw on our network of trusted suppliers to source the highest quality materials, such as market leading Velux ® window systems. Our long-established relationships with key suppliers means that when you appoint Truss Loft for your loft conversion project, you can be assured that you’re getting a premium quality luxury end product at a highly competitive price.
